Seed Treatment

Select plump seeds and soak them for a period of time to let them absorb sufficient water, which is beneficial for germination.

Soil Preparation

Choose loose, fertile acidic sandy loam. You can mix leaf mold, garden soil and river sand, then add some decomposed organic fertilizer. This kind of soil is breathable and moisture-retentive, which is perfect for the growth of hydrangeas.

Sowing Steps

Sprinkle the treated seeds gently on the soil surface and cover them with a layer of fine soil, about 1–2 cm deep. Water thoroughly, place the pot in a cool and ventilated area, and wait for germination.

Under normal conditions, the germination period is approximately 20 to 30 days.
